EdgeOne remains committed to listening to user feedback and continuously upgrading and iterating its products while exploring advanced technological directions. In this report, we will highlight the innovative capabilities that EdgeOne has introduced this quarter in the areas of edge security and edge media.
During the configuration of security policies, operations personnel often need to manually set rules across multiple systems, which not only leads to inefficiencies but also increases the likelihood of errors. This challenge is particularly pronounced when utilizing multiple CDN services, as the security rules across different platforms can be difficult to unify, thereby complicating management and increasing the risk of mistakes. Furthermore, the lack of visual representation of security rules and version management tools makes it challenging for operations teams to troubleshoot issues and adjust policies effectively.
To address these issues, EdgeOne has introduced batch management capabilities for custom and managed rules. Users can now read and edit all security policies through a standardized interface in a single operation, significantly improving the efficiency of cross-platform policy automation management. The new interface supports complex rule expressions, allowing users to define and retrieve the necessary security rules more conveniently.
Additionally, the process of modifying security rules has become clearer and more straightforward. The new interface is compatible with the previous API, facilitating a smooth upgrade for existing operations. It also supports integration with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms such as Terraform and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, incorporating EdgeOne security policy configurations (both custom and managed rules) into automated deployment and version control processes.
With this functionality, operations personnel can use scripts or automation tools to manage security policies in bulk, significantly reducing manual intervention and lowering the error rate in configurations. In scenarios where multiple CDNs are used concurrently, users can quickly synchronize the same set of exported rule configurations across platforms, ensuring consistency in security policies and preventing vulnerabilities due to platform discrepancies.
In scenarios such as OTT and social media, users often require custom file storage paths when storing videos, and offline processing of media files can lead to wasted storage resources and prolonged transcoding times. To address this issue, EdgeOne's Instant Video Processing now supports the VOD Professional Edition as a source station.
When utilizing the instant media processing feature, users can directly select the VOD Professional Edition storage functionality as the video source station, allowing for custom file storage paths while leveraging instant media processing capabilities. This flexibility meets users' needs for adaptable storage and on-demand processing of video content, helping to reduce storage costs and enhance the compatibility of video processing with playback devices.
The instant video processing feature has been expanded to support the VOD Professional Edition as a source station, enabling the use of instant video processing for videos from three types of source stations: internal object storage within the cloud platform, VOD Standard Edition, and VOD Professional Edition. This functionality caters to on-demand storage users who require custom path management, providing the ability to process audio and video files instantly during the media acceleration distribution phase, thereby significantly optimizing media file processing efficiency and costs.
EdgeOne will continue to enhance its product features, providing users with more stable, secure, and efficient services. Through ongoing technological iterations and improvements, we are dedicated to safeguarding your business.
